While there are several legends about the origins of Kombucha, one of them is that Kombucha is an ancient Chinese tea that has been around for more than 2,000 years.

Kombucha is created by millions of microorganisms that come together in the form of a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY). It is made by adding a SCOBY to sweetened tea, and the culture feeds on the sugars during an aging process that gives us this healthful, probiotic, fizzy drink. 

 

WHAT IS THE SHELF-LIFE OF KOMBUCHA?

Once refrigerated, kombucha can last for 6 months. Remember, since it is a fermented product, refrigeration is necessary!
